THE FINAL
Future Cutlet, odds-on favourite the previous year, led at the first bend
from trap 3 and enjoyed a trouble free run. He built up a clear lead from last years
winner, Wild Woolley, and Deemster Mike, with Beef Cutlet some 4 lengths back in fourth.
Future maintained a four length lead, but Beef Cutlet, his half brother, showed tremendous
back straight pace and passed both Wild Woolley and Deemster Mike. As they approached the
third bend Future still led but Beef Cutlet was rapidly cutting down that lead, and on the
run to the line Future just prevailed by a short head from the 2/1 second favourite.

Semi-Final : In the first semi final Swift Heart beat Lacken Warrior by 6 lengths in 30.74. In the second semi final Treasure's Hopeful beat Right Incline by 1/2 a length in 30.63. In the third semi final Monologue beat Mooncoin Captain.
Final : Right Incline made most of the early running and was leading until after the final bend. Down the home straight the fast finishing bitch Monologue got up to win by 3/4 length in 30.52.
