BELLE VUE RACECOURSE
It was in April 1825 that Belle Vue racecourse, situated in New South Wales, was first opened for business. It was the brainchild of Captain Piper and Sir John Jamieson, and it was Sir John's land at Old South Head Road where the course was established. The two had met a month earlier to discuss the organisation of the meeting.
