CAHOKIA RACECOURSE
The racecourse of Cahokia Downs is in the state of Kentucky, just 5 miles from the city of St Louis, and first opened its gates to racing in 1954. It specialised in night racing under floodlights, with crowds packing the impressive grandstand to watch through the large glass windows.
The principal race at the track was the St Louis Derby.
