|COVENTRY BRANDON ROAD GREYHOUND STADIUM
This site is not an official website for the track shown here and is neither approved or endorsed by the stadium. I am indebted to Richard English for helping to construct this page.
The first racing to take place at the ‘new’ Coventry track at Brandon was on 19th September 1978 with the track being situated at 1° 24' W 52° 23' N.In 1978 Sarah's Bunny won over 460 metres in a time of 28.74 secs. She went on to win the 1979 English Greyhound Derby. The track had a turbulent history at the venue, closing then opening again in April 2004. It closed again on 26th December 2009, only to reopen in May 2012.
|In its most recent reincarnation it was run by the renowned gambler Harry Findlay. It has now closed for business.|
|Track Records, as of September 2014, are shown below together with an indication of how fast the time is in comparison to other tracks, both for currently open and defunct tracks, in the UK. Ratings are between 0 and 100, where 100 is an extremely fast time and reflects the speed of the track, tightness of the circuit and quality of greyhound visiting the tracks.
