This was run on Thursday 2nd June 1808 and 10 ran from an initial entry of 38. The winner won by 1/2 a length and a first prize of £1,260, (The equivalent of £105,900 in today's terms based on Bank of England inflation calculator). The winner was bred by Sir Hedworth Williamson, trained by John Lonsdale at Tupgill, Middleham and ridden by Frank Collinson. The winner was a chestnut horse by St George out of Arethusa.
