This was run on Thursday 18th May 1809 and the winner was bred by the 3rd Duke of Grafton and trained by Robert Robson. There were 10 runners from an initial entry of 45. The winner won by a neck to claim a first prize of £1,443 15s, (The equivalent of £110,900 in today's terms based on Bank of England inflation calculator). The winner was a bay horse by Waxy out of Prunella.
