This was run on Wednesday 30th May 1877 and the winner was trained by M.Dawson at Newmarket. There were 17 runners from an initial entry of 245. The winner won by 1/2 a length in 2 mins 50 secs, with 3/4 length between second and third. The winner won a first prize of £6,050, the equivalent of £2,440,000 today.
