This was run on Wednesday 28th May 1884 and the winners were bred by Major E Brace and the 6th Viscount Falmouth respectively, and trained by Robert Sherwood and James Jewitt, both at Newmarket. There were 15 runners from an initial entry of 189. The winning time was 2 mins 46.2 secs and there was 2 lengths back to the third horse. The winners won a first prize of £4,900, equivalent to £2,080,000 today.
