This was run on Wednesday 5th June 1929 and the winner was bred by Mr William Barnett and trained by Richard (Dick) C.Dawson at Whatcombe. There were 26 runners from an initial entry of 326. The winner won by 1 1/2 lengths with 2 lengths between second and third. The winners time was 2 mins 36.4 secs. The winner won a first prize of £11,965, (The equivalent of £722,600 in today's terms based on Bank of England inflation calculator). |
