This was run on Wednesday 31st May 1961 and the winner was bred by Mme Etti Plesch and trained by Harry Wragg at Newmarket. There were 28 runners from an initial entry of 490. The winner won by 2 lengths with a neck between second and third. The winners time was 2 mins 36.5 secs. The winner won a first prize of £34,548, (The equivalent of £731,000 in today's terms based on Bank of England inflation calculator).
