This was run on Wednesday 3rd June 1970 and the winner was bred by Mr Edward P Taylor and trained by M.Vincent O'Brien. There were 11 runners and the winning time was 2 mins 34.6 secs. The winner won by 2 1/2 lengths with 3 lengths back to the third. The winner won a first prize of £62,311, the equivalent of £1,360,000 today.
