The winner won a first prize of £106,465.50, the equivalent of £1,090,000 today. The winner won by 3 lengths with 4 lengths between second and third. The winner was owned by Dr Carlo Vittadini, the second by Nelson Bunker-Hunt and the third by Ravi Tikko.
