This was run on Saturday 8th June 1996 and the winner was bred by Khalifa Abdullah Dasman and trained by William Haggas. Therer were 20 runners and the winner won by 1 1/4 lengths in 2 mins 35.05 secs, with 1 1/4 lengths between second and third. The winner was owned by Khalifa Dasmal, the second by Khalid Abdulla and the third by Sheikh Mohammed. The winner won a first prize of £523,100, (The equivalent of £933,500 in today's terms based on Bank of England inflation calculator).
