This was run on Saturday 9th June 2001 and the winner was bred by Mr David Tsui and Orpendale and trained by Aidan O'Brien. There were 12 runners and the winner won by 3 1/2 lengths in 2 mins 33.27 with a neck between second and third. The winner was owned by Mrs John Magnier and Michael Tabor and claimed a first prize of £580,000, (The equivalent of £912,000 in today's terms based on Bank of England inflation calculator). The second was owned by Lord Weinstock and the third by Godolphin.
