This was run on Saturday 3rd June 2006 and the winner was bred by the Old Suffolk Stud and trained by Marcus Tregoning. There were 18 runners and the winner won by a Short Head in 2 mins 35.23 secs, with a head between second and third. The first prize was £740,695.10 (The equivalent of £1,019,000 in today's terms based on Bank of England inflation calculator) and the winning owner was Mr A.E.Pakenham.
