The racecourse of Jagesro Galopp, the oldest in Sweden, can be found 3 miles south-east of the city of Malmo in Sweden, first hosting racing in 1907. Today the track is a left handed oval dirt track of 7 furlongs, but in those early days it was a right handed turf track where gambling was banned until 1923. It is a multipurpose track and equestrian centre, hosting principal thoroughbred races like the Swedish Derby in late July or early August and first contested in 1918, the Pramms Memorial over 1730 metres in May, and the Zawawi Cup over 1200 metres, but also staging harness racing and the Swedish Trotting Derby.
