The Louisiana Downs racecourse can be located in the city of Bossier in the state of Louisiana. It first opened for business in 1974 and hosts both thoroughbred and quarter horse race meets. Its owners also race at Remington Park and Thistledown.
The principal race is the Group II Super Derby which is contested over a mile and a quarter. It was first run in 1980 when Temperance Hill was successful in the hands of Eddie Maple. More recently in 2009 Regal Ransom was victorious when ridden by Richard Migliore.

I am grateful to our American racing correspondent Richard Gauthier for the badge scans shown on this page.
