The New South Wales homestead of Mallawa lies on the banks of Pimpara Creek in the south west of the state, some 640 kilometres west of the state capital Sydney, and about 390 kilometres south of Melbourne. The homestead runs its own races at Moree racecourse, when racing is administered by the Mallawa Amateur Picnic Race Club. The highlight of their racing year is the Mallawa Picnic Cup over 1400 metres which is traditionally held on the second Saturday in June.
