The city of Mitchell, with a population of around 1700, is in the Scotts Bluff County of Nebraska and once had its own racecourse in the late 1940s. The racecourse was situated at Scotts Bluff Fairground and was just 4 furlongs in length. The track had a small grandstand which had the potential to seat up to 2000 people. Meetings were held each September and lasted for the entire week.
|Although held as part of the state fair, betting first took place at the track in the late 1940s and meetings were held each year for almost 20 years.
The final meeting took place in September 1967.
