POCONO DOWNS RACECOURSE  
Pocono Downs racetrack is based at the town of Wilkes-Barre in the state of pennsylvania. It is famous for harness racing on a tight 5/8ths of a mile circuit and its racing season starts in April and extends through to October. Its inaugural meeting was held on 15th July 1965 and, whilst more famous for harness racing, it did host thoroughbred meetings from 1970 until 1980.
  Its principal races are the Reynold Stakes, the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes and the James Lynch Memorial Stakes.
