RAYLEIGH GREYHOUND STADIUM

The greyhound track in the Rayleigh Weir area of Southend was situated at 0° 36' E 51° 34' N and opened for racing in 1948. It shared the venue with speedway later that year and continued to do so for the next 25 years.

Once speedway finished in 1973 the writing was on the wall for greyhound racing at the venue, and the final meeting took place on 8th March 1974.
