The racecourse of Remington Park, based in the city of Oklahoma, was the brainchild of Edward DeBartolo and benefits from two race tracks. It first began racing on 1st September 1988 on an experimental synthetic surface and now offers both thoroughbred racing and quarter horse racing. It now has an 8 furlong dirt track and an inner turf track of 7 furlongs, together with separate 6 furlong and 10 furlong chutes, sharing a 314 metre home straight. Its feature races are the Remington Oklahoma Derby for 3 year olds, the Edmund Handicap and the Remington Futurity.
