After a false start caused by Elopement the field got away cleanly and were led by Frontignan, pace setter for the favourite. After just 2 furlongs the pace setter had gone clear, but by the time the field reached the hill Martineau had passed Frontignan to lead. As they rounded the home bend Diamond Jubilee made his effort and settled the score within a few strides. He won with ears pricked by a length and a half in 3 minutes 9.6 seconds, with2 lengths between Elopement and Courlan. During his distinguished career he captured the Triple Crown and won stakes to the value of £29,185, worth £3.47 million in 2017 terms. Over Round 101%
