The New South Wales village of Tabulum, on the Bruxner Highway, is located some 800 kilometres from Sydney. Despite having a population of less than 500 residents it organises a very successful Spring Racing Carnival each year, capturing people’s interest by staging it around the time of the Melbourne Cup. The racecourse is situated just 1 kilometre to the south of the village, with racing administered by the Tabulam Jockey Club, the principal race being the Tabulam Cup over 2200 metres.
