BEAUDESERT RACECOURSE
The Beaudesert racecourse is situated in Queensland. It is known that racing was first staged at the course in 1879. That first meeting was administered by the Logan and Albert Jockey Club and was held on 16th April of that year.
.Some 33 years later the grandstand was built and it
remains operational even today.
|
||
Royal visitors attended the course at the 1927 meeting when the Duke and Duchess of York were 'in the crowd'.
The principal race is the Beaudesert Cup, although the
racecourse times its 'country meetings' to coincide with National events, notably
Anzac Day and the running of the Melbourne Cup. The 2008 Beaudesert Cup was won by Milady
Clang trained by the Toowomba based Neville Petersen.
