A two day meeting takes place on the 13th and 14th August. On each day £50 purses were given to the winners; a hunters race on the 13th and a conditions race on the 14th.

A handbill of the time shows that two races took place on 22nd August, with entries being recorded at the Cross-Keys Inn in Castle Street.

The first running of the King's Plate at Warwick

Chandler gains a jumping success on his way to Grand National success in 1848. He is said to have jumped a world record 39 feet to clear a brook and 4 fallen horses.

The Warwick Races Club Syndicate is formed.

Racing ceases for the duration of the War.

The Corporation purchase the racecourse from the Warwick Races Club Syndicate.
