Located in Niederrad on the outskirts of Frankfurt is the Frankfurt Racecourse.
Each September it hosts the Euro Cup, a Group 3 event, while in November it holds the Hessen-Pokal, also a Group 3 event.

The Hessen-Pokal is run over 2000 metres each November and was first run in 1967. It was promoted to Group 3 status in 1973. In 1989 and again in 1990 Twist King gained consecutive victories when ridden by Dragan Ilic.
The most recent 2008 winner was the Hayley Turner ridden Lady Deauville for Paul Blockley.
