The picture shown above, and taken in the early 90's, is of Epsom & Ewall football club stand, which is beginning to look the worse for wear. The ground was actually sold in 1987, and no work had been done on it since. The stand was eventually demolished in the summer of 1993. The importance of it is that it had previously been a stand at Hurst Park Racecourse.

CURRENT SITUATION

Main stand is at Mansfield Town. A supermarket, primary school and gardens now stand on the racecourse grounds.

"I am a long term fan of Epsom & Ewell F.C, and whilst it is well know that the Hurst Park grandstand was sold to Mansfield F.C. in 1959-61, I have been made aware of a previous grandstand of the racecourse which was moved to Epsom & Ewell for their West Street ground in the late 1920's or early 1930's, although unlikely to have been before 1925 when Epsom took charge of the ground"
