KILMORE RACECOURSE
Approached by the Hume Highway, Kilmore Racecourse is situated about 40 miles North of Melbourne in Victoria.
Racing has taken place in the Kilmore area since the early 1850's, although the present racecourse on East Street was first used in 1865.

By 1930 a radical decision was made when all facilities were shifted from one side of the track to the other. They even attempted to move the wooden grandstand until it got stuck and it took 6 months to position it correctly.
In the late 1980's a new grandstand containing dining area, was completed, although the wooden grandstand remained as a nostalgic reminder of times past.
