Speedway has taken place across at
least 3 venues in the Milton Keynes area since 1978. The initial meeting was held at the
Groveway Greyhound Stadium on the 28th March 1978. From this opening event the team
competed in the National League until 1988 and were Pairs Champions in 1979. The final speedway meeting at this venue was held on 25th October 1988. |
||||
The team continued to see action at two further venues in 1989 and 1991 at Elfield Park Stadium and Blade Runner Ice Rink respectively.
The Groveway Greyhound Stadium is on the H9 Groveway and has operated as a Greyhound Stadium since its first meeting on 25th July 1963, although once speedway had seen its final meeting the greyhounds continued to run until the final meeting on 26th December 2005.
Throughout their history the team has been known as the Milton Keynes Knights.
