|OVERLAND PARK RACECOURSE|
|Overland Park Racecourse was situated in Denver and can trace its history back to 1887. In that year Henry Wolcott bought Jewell Park and set about renaming it Overland Park.|
|The Jockey Club was formed and Overland Racecourse came
into being. A Denver directory of 1892 lists the Superintendent of the Overland Jockey
Club as James H Temple.
|Further evidence exists of a Grand Summer Meeting taking place in 1908 which was organised by the Overland Jockey Club.|
