Overland 1892.JPG (12339 bytes) OVERLAND PARK RACECOURSE
Overland Park Racecourse was situated in Denver and can trace its history back to 1887. In that year Henry Wolcott bought Jewell Park and set about renaming it Overland Park.
The Jockey Club was formed and Overland Racecourse came into being. A Denver directory of 1892 lists the Superintendent of the Overland Jockey Club as James H Temple.

Further evidence exists of a Grand Summer Meeting taking place in 1908 which was organised by the Overland Jockey Club.
