Speedway came to the Isle of Wight very late with the first event not held until 1996. The meeting was held at the Smallbrook Stadium and the inaugural meeting was on 13th May of that year. | ||||
When Skegness decided tomove from their Lincolnshire home they chose the Isle of Wight as their new venue. | ||||
The team joined the Conference League in 1996
and have been a Premiership team since 1997.

The team have been nicknamed the Islanders and the Wizards as the display of badges indicate. | ||||
