SWAN HILL RACECOURSE
The country track of Swan Hill is located in the state of Victoria about 210 miles north of the City of Melbourne. It can be approached via the Murray Valley Highway.
Racing records indicate that the first meeting at the Swan Hill Racecourse was in May 1862 when a 3 day meeting was organised. The principal race was the Town Plate with a large prize of 60 guineas, but even a Maiden Plate carried a prize of 25 guineas, a huge sum in those days.

The course went from strength to strength in the 1900's and by 1950 the racecourse was changed to a turf track, having previously been a sand surface.
The course is also shared by Swan Hill St Patrick's Racing Club and Quambatook Racing Club.
