The 155th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Thursday 2nd May 1968 over the Rowley Mile, was Caergwrle (4/1 fav), a chestnut filly by Crepello out of Caerphilly, owned by Mrs Gwen Murless. The winner won by a length in 1 minute 40.38 secs, with a neck between second and third. A field of 14 runners contested the race which was worth £19,682 (Equivalent to £328,700 in 2017)
