This was run on the Thursday 3rd March 1841 with the going good and weather grey and overcast.  The winner was owned by Lord Craven, trained by William Vevers and ridden by Horatio Powell. The won by a length in a time of 13 minutes 25 secs, with half a length back to the third.

There were 37 subscribers at 20 sovereigns each, with 100 sovereigns added. After the second saved his stake, the winners pot was 820 sovereigns. (Equivalent to £76,600 in 2017)
