The race took place on Saturday 9th April 2016 when a field of 39 ran in Soft going with Heavy in places due to torrential rain the night before and in the early afternoon. The winner won by 6 lengths at 33/1, with 8 lengths between second and third. The winner was trained by Mouse Morris and owned by the Gigginstown House Stud. The winning time was 9 minutes 29 secs and there were 16 finishers.
